Commentary
“… unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security.”
How long do the Nordic countries expect to be able to fight for Ukraine and deliver “unwavering” support until it starts hindering the Nordic economy and people’s reception?
“This is crucial for European, Euro-Atlantic and global security.”
Nordic countries are the target of well-prepared U.S. covert foreign influence operations. While the mantra you recited has gained global support, little or no detailed explanation is provided of how Ukraine’s prevalence would improve “global security.”
“We will individually and jointly continue to strengthen Ukraine’s …”
By now, the international community has realized that the West is using Ukraine as a proxy. Strengthening Ukraine’s defense west prolonged the war, which in turn caused the deaths of thousands of more Ukrainians. However, that does nothing for Western leaders, as Ukrainians carry the most tremendous loss.
“… and to deter future attacks.”
Although the war will eventually end, Ukraine will continue to be a buffer zone for the West and, most importantly, for the EU. Ukrainians rest assured that their sacrifice for the EU will forever be undervalued.
“… We will therefore strengthen our joint efforts to support Ukraine’s accession to the EU.”
As the most corrupt country in Europe, Ukraine would require a complete overhaul of its past practices to become clean of corruption. The truth is that Ukraine is too corrupt to track all of its corruption.
“… We support a greater role for NATO in the coordination.”
The Nordic countries have overlooked one of the main reasons why Ukraine is at war with Russia. Hasn’t NATO expansion contributed to Russia’s interpretation that it was necessary to take necessary steps to secure its borders? Denying that fact would depict the Nordic naïve attitude toward global powerplay.
“We are committed to countering Russia’s war of aggression by constraining its influence…”
Meddling in Georgia’s legislation and calling it “Russian law” is hardly the right approach. The U.S., United Kingdom, Australia, and, recently, the EU have similar laws fighting foreign influence. Rotating the paranoia towards people of a free democratic country confirms the European bigotry, which is turning against itself and influenced by the U.S. and its affiliates.
“Having faced Russia’s aggression for more than ten years, including over two years of full-scale war…”
Ten years ago, the Western coalition relied on economic sanctions, diplomatic pressure, and limited military assistance, carefully balancing the complexities of geopolitics while addressing the challenges of such crises. These measures did not prevent Russia from gaining control of areas in Ukraine. In the past two years, the West, including the Nordic countries, has abandoned diplomacy in favor of violence, which evidently will lead to an even more grave situation and more Ukrainian casualties.
