Make America great again – thru reconciliation, not by violence

Rather than attempting to address issues from within, the far-right movement persists in defaming opponents who disagree with their beliefs. Additionally, there seems to be a constant effort to arm themselves as if preparing for a civil war. Although there is a conflict of ideologies, it is not one involving guns and violence.

Consider this proposal: the far-right movement appears eager for political power and keen to demonstrate their unity against political adversaries. Why not establish themselves as a political party and nominate a presidential candidate for the upcoming 2024 presidential elections?
It is concerning that the far-right movement claims to uphold the Constitution. Yet, their actions often contradict this statement, positioning themselves as enemies of the Constitution of the United States of America. Their interest is in the Second Amendment, the right to bear arms.

Second amendment: “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

The right to bear arms, as guaranteed by the Second Amendment, has taken a form that is increasingly disconnected from reality. The far-right movement has identified itself as a “militia,” claiming the right to bear arms and use them as they see fit. However, The Second Amendment grants all citizens the same rights, regardless of their political beliefs.

Same-minded but tricked by extremist ideology

There is a noticeable divide between far-right groups and ordinary citizens. Regular citizens favor peaceful solutions such as using their right to vote to elect officials representing them in the federal government. These officials are responsible for creating laws and regulating the use of the power granted to them by their constituents.
On the other hand, members of far-right groups also participate in voting. Still, their main goal is to create chaos and mistrust between the legally elected government and the citizens. They achieve this by spreading lies and slander instead of contributing to peaceful problem-solving.
Groups are forming who share a common belief that their rights as American citizens have been violated. However, it’s unclear if all members truly support the movement’s goals or if they’re attracted to the idea of belonging to a rebellious group that opposes the federal government. It’s worth noting that some of these groups also offer paramilitary training and access to hidden bases within the US.

Hatred as a way of life

Is it considered a responsible citizen to openly express your hatred towards a legally elected government, or is it simply a way of expressing dissatisfaction with political power structures?
Regardless of the reasons, individuals who belong to far-right groups have the right to express their opinions if they operate within the limits of law and order. Furthermore, the Constitution guarantees citizens the fundamental right to assemble, express their opinions, and exercise their freedom of speech.

First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The central issue is whether citizens have the freedom to gather while resorting to violent behavior. Many members of far-right groups believe that using violence is an effective means of making their message heard.
The recent violent and unconstitutional incident that occurred on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2022 is a shameful example of the culture of hate and violence that exists in society. Unfortunately, it will be recorded in history books as a dark moment in US history.
The attack was completely unjustified and was instigated by certain individuals in US politics who had the sole aim of overthrowing the democratically elected government and its new president, who was elected by the people through voting, as outlined in the constitution.
This incident emphasizes the reality that some groups refuse to acknowledge a democratically elected government chosen by the people. This makes it also difficult for the government to balance the power between political parties.

A state defined by its constitution

The Constitution of the United States of America, created on September 17, 1787 and effective on March 4, 1789, is the oldest surviving constitution globally. It’s unfortunate that some individuals continuously try to undermine the legitimacy of this document.
Every country in the world has its own constitution that sets the rules for how its government should operate. When those rules are broken, it can lead to dictatorial leadership, which undermines the ability of the government to function properly and uphold the law. This is not just a problem in the United States but is happening globally, making it difficult for legal institutions to maintain order and justice.
A country needs to prioritize and uphold the principles of its Constitution to adapt to changing political views and make necessary adjustments. Ignoring the importance of the Constitution creates an opportunity for extremist movements, such as the far-right, to gain power and push their agenda.
As presidential candidates enter the race, they must place the Constitution at the forefront of their campaign. Defending it will leave little room for the opposition to interfere with the party’s political views and affairs. This will also show voters that the future government is built on the fundamental rights of its citizens and is prepared to defend the laws and responsibilities of the government for the people.

Mr. Trump and a new order

Reports suggest that Mr. Trump and his allies are making plans to increase presidential power in 2025, should he win the election. These plans include impounding funds and bringing some federal agencies under direct presidential control. These proposals are concerning and raise questions about the future of the United States. Such measures could lead to authoritarianism, which is alarming.
Sadly, throughout history, people have sought to enrich themselves, and the political arena is no exception. So, it is no surprise that Mr. Trump as a self-declared businessman has greed in his nature. Similar behavior dates to ancient times when those who relied on the generosity of the ruling class often became subordinates in their evil plans.

It’s not surprising that Mr. Trump’s popularity among Republicans remains strong for the time being. However, the upcoming court cases may impact his popularity and potentially result in him losing some of his loyal aides. Only time will tell.

America is entering a new age, with this new age comes stupidity. The US needs a new leader who looks to the country’s future, does what is best for the citizens, and upholds the Constitution. To me, the US is a slowly sinking boat, much like many other countries at the moment, but every country in the world must ask themselves; Do we abandon ship or grab a bucket to reduce the speed of the sinking?
Someone must get the ball rolling in the right direction, but that is yet to be determined who that is for the US. I hope the PEOPLE elect someone who isn’t an older man collapsing on stairs or a greedy authoritarian.
There is always a third option. Everybody just refuses to put one up or create one.
