The “Big Boys League” isn’t for imitators

The former president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, wants to play in the “Big Boys League” but fails to understand that doing so would require a comprehensive understanding of geopolitics, years of experience in the political arena, and, most importantly, diplomacy, none of which are part of his skill set.

The current world leaders hardly treat Zelensky as an equal but an opportunist, as they understand the power of persuasion and scheming. It is, however, a different story to try to start WW3 than to scheme a couple of billions from greedy politicians and manage offshore bank accounts.

History has shown that the United States has no interest in aiding and abetting a larger-scale offensive inside Russian territory, which Ukraine has already initiated on a small scale in Kursk. It would be rather peculiar if the West had approved such an incursion, as Ukraine is already struggling on the eastern front. Poking a sleeping bear has no benefit for anybody, at least for Ukraine. Zelensky’s “big plan” might be the scribblings of a failed wannabe dictator who is losing his grip and making his last attempts to gain credibility in the eyes of world leaders.

Playing tit for tat with Russia is far from the required skill set of a real statesman, as Zelensky is hardly qualified to lead a nation in war. However, he has made an admirable effort to create a great show, which is what he knows best, according to his qualifications as a comedian.

Whether the Western leaders are willing to participate in Zelensky’s “big boys plan,” even partly, has little to do with Ukraine as the Western coalition continues its Cold War-era rhetoric, trying to crush Russia’s economy and global influence in arms manufacturing and sales, as well as other economic aspirations.

Thus far, the BRICS countries have made significant advancements towards economic buildup, which aims to separate themselves from using the US dollar as a trading currency. This is terrible news for the United States, but it is good news for BRICS members as the emerging economic world power is gaining more popularity in the Global South.

Diplomacy has never been more needed today as the world powers are drifting further away from reconciliation. Countries like Finland in northern parts of Europe should decide whether to stick with the preeminence of the past colonial powers of the West or start vigorous diplomacy with the East, trying to repair what has been destroyed by the ambitious plans of wannabe dictators and offshore bankers.
