Zelensky’s repeated belittling of Western support, coupled with his complaint that the West is ‘afraid of escalation,’ is a clear display of arrogance that only confirms his lack of diplomatic and political understanding.
It’s not a matter of fear but more of understanding the complex dynamics. Despite facing a formidable adversary, the Ukrainian people have little desire to become directly involved in the U.S. proxy war.
Although French President Emanuel Macron and Estonia’s PM Kaja Kallas suggested sending NATO troops to Ukraine and confirming that it would not escalate the war, they showed inexperience and political immaturity. That sets them in line with Zelensky’s inexperience as a state leader.
“Ukrainians are dying” is a blatant statement from Zelensky, making him question Western understanding of the reality of Ukraine’s situation. It has become apparent that there are casualties, and there will be more. That, however, can’t be resolved by escalating the war and making it between NATO and Russia. That is, however, what Zelensky wants: more arms and ammunition, resulting in more casualties of war.
Inexperienced minds lack common understanding.
There is an urgent need to relieve Zelensky from his duties and create more competent leadership. His latest conscription law does little to improve the situation. Forced conscription and threatening his fellow men with prison and sanctions, such as closing their bank accounts and confiscating property, do not make him the people’s president or real-life Servant of the People; they instead depict him as a dictator in the making.
Admitting that the situation in Ukraine is “one of the most difficult” should awaken his understanding that the war can’t be resolved only by providing more arms and ammunition, especially when Ukraine is not a formidable military power. Relying solely on outside help makes Ukraine more vulnerable to outside influence.
