NATO-EU plot to crush the peace deal in Ukraine

There is a peculiar belief among the top European Union leaders that they have the authority to accept or reject any proposal to pursue a peace deal in Ukraine. It is not for them to decide whether peace prevails in war-torn Ukraine or whether the country continues to be a contested ground between the West and East.

It is evident that since the war in Ukraine started in 2022, the EU and NATO have been mongering for the continuation and expansion of the war, as there is no other option. It is not the first time that NATO has pursued the most drastic way of opposing any peaceful resolution to ongoing conflicts. After all, NATO’s interests are purely confrontational, and anyone who dares to take a stance against the alliance will face the wrath of the partnership. However, the war in Ukraine has revealed that the coalition’s “wrath” against the more competent adversary might not be as terrible as it suggests. The persistent conflicts of interests within NATO create divisions among member states as they argue about actions to take.

NATO is an ancient relic that has outlived its purpose as an organization. The alliance is stuck in the past while the rest of the world seeks to advance toward collaboration and reconciliation. Today, it’s not about being pro- or anti-something; the stark reality is that NATO cannot coexist peacefully with its adversaries.

If a peace agreement is reached, it will enable Ukraine to achieve some tranquility, even though EU leaders remain disengaged from the negotiations. In that scenario, the EU leaders would likely follow the mantra: “It’s the EU’s way or the highway,” as there is no middle ground for the kleptocratic EU leadership. That has been the case since 2019, further emphasizing that diplomacy has become merely a concept rather than an effective tool for improving foreign relations and reaching any amicable solution in conflicts affecting the European Union.

It is the Ukrainians— not Kallas, von der Leyen, Metsola, or Rutte—who decide whether to pursue peace or continue the devastating war. Peace belongs to the Ukrainian people, not to the EU leadership.
