Many “Toy Story generals,” like Estonia’s Kaja Kallas and Germany’s FM, Annalena Baerbock, repeat the NATO narrative and lack individuality. Together, the EU leaders and NATO are swift to pass judgment but sluggish to shoulder responsibility for their actions.
The U.S. narrative for Ukraine is based on greed and colonial ambitions. It needs the geopolitical understanding and ability to cooperate with forces opposing Western ideology. As a result, Ukraine has become a victim of its eagerness to submit to the West’s corporate greed and become yet another vassal state to the U.S. alongside the EU member states.
The missile attack on September 3, 2024, on Poltava has been confirmed to target military personnel and, as such, was considered a “legitimate” target by Russians. Despite the war having already devastated Ukraine for over two years, there will likely be further civilian and military casualties, not only due to Russian aggression but also because of NATO’s inability to mediate peace and use diplomacy to prevent conflicts.
Understandably, the Ukrainians are determined to defend their sovereignty, which is their top priority. Even if it leads to further loss of lives, their main goal is maintaining control over their land and state affairs. However, the EU leadership’s and politicians’ rational decision-making is being overshadowed by their failure to operate within the boundaries of international and humanitarian laws, as this would require diplomacy, which the EU currently lacks.
